In conjunction with World Environment Day, CIFAL Saudi Center organized a dialogue session entitled "From Nature to Sustainability: Steps Toward a Better World", with the participation of a select group of specialists and those interested in environmental and sustainable development issues, as part of its ongoing efforts to spread environmental awareness and promote sustainability concepts.
The session was held via video call, and featured Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Shehri, General Manager of the Advisory Center for Environmental Studies and Services and a researcher and expert in Sustainable Development Goals, while the session was moderated by Dr. Amal bint Abdullah Al-Mziyad, an expert in the applications of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
The session addressed a number of key concepts, including an introduction to World Environment Day, its significance and objectives, a review of Saudi Arabia's efforts in environmental protection and the conservation of natural resources, as well as highlighting the role of individuals and institutions in supporting sustainable environmental practices and enhancing community responsibility toward the environment.
During the session, Dr. Ali Al-Shehri emphasized that achieving environmental sustainability requires integrated efforts among government agencies, the private sector, and society, noting that environmental protection represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and ensuring quality of life for both current and future generations, in alignment with the targets of Saudi Vision 2030.
For her part, Dr. Amal Al-Mziyad explained that organizing this session is part of CIFAL Saudi Center programs and initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness and spreading a culture of sustainability, stressing the importance of building effective community partnerships that contribute to achieving development and environmental goals at both the local and international levels.
