
In conjunction with World Migratory Bird Day, the Saudi Cifal Center organized an awareness session titled Protecting Migratory Birds and Their Role in Ecosystem Sustainability in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of a number of specialists and individuals interested in environmental issues.
The virtual session hosted Mr. Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Suhaibani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bird Protection Society, and was moderated by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al-Mziad, an expert in the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The session addressed several important topics, most notably the concept of migratory birds and their migration routes, as well as their vital role in maintaining ecological balance. It also reviewed the environmental challenges facing migratory birds and their impact on biodiversity. In addition, the session highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in protecting wildlife and emphasized the importance of community responsibility in preserving the environment.
During the session, Mr. Abdullah Al-Suhaibani stressed the importance of protecting migratory birds as a key element in sustaining ecosystems, noting that their preservation contributes to strengthening ecological balance and supporting biodiversity in alignment with sustainable development objectives.
For her part, Dr. Amal Al-Mziad explained that the event comes as part of the Saudi Cifal Center’s efforts to promote environmental awareness, strengthen community participation in protecting natural resources, and support initiatives that contribute to environmental sustainability.
The organization of this session reflects the Center’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing awareness of environmental issues at both the local and international levels.
